Breast Augmentation That Looks Natural: A Key Feature

Almost all women who seek breast augmentation would like to have, in the end, a very natural result. The naturalness of results can be impacted by a number of factors. Some of these are related to what a woman starts with. And some are related to what we do surgically.
If they want breast implant results that look natural, women who have very small breasts like an A cup should pick an implant that fits their body and avoid choosing a real large implant because it will look artificial. And the reason for that is there is very little breast tissue to camouflage the implant. The bigger the implant, the more the breast will look like an implant as opposed to the original breast.
The other part of naturalness is something I can do. And that is defining the breast crease. When breast augmentation is performed, the breast crease almost always needs attention. In this patient [featured in the video], if a breast crease or stabilization/fixation repair is not performed, then the breast crease will not have definition, and the breasts will look much more artificial. In comparing the before and after views of this patient, you can see the dramatic diifference this makes.
In the oblique “after” view, you can again see how well-defined the breast crease is, stretching from the inside part of the breast to the outside part of the breast. If I had not incorporated this detail, the breast crease would have looked rather blunt, and the implant would have been more visible to the eye. So I think it’s a very important part of a breast augmentation procedure in order to attain the aesthetic ideal I seek.
For that reason, on almost all patients for whom I do breast augmentation with saline or silicone implants, I like to do some kind of fixation of the breast crease to improve the breast contour. This crease definition along with a reasonably-sized implant will give a woman breast augmentation outcome which appears much more natural and authentic.
