Can Lipo 360 Be Combined with a Tummy Tuck?

I was recently asked if Lipo 360 can be performed at the same time as a tummy tuck. And my answer is “absolutely yes.” Often I will do Lipo 360 of the torso, the waist, hips, and thighs. I particularly like to perform a tummy tuck with liposuction in the waist area because because it really improves the overall result from the tummy tuck. It narrows the waist, along with flattening the abdomen. And those two things create better balance and an overall superior result.

In addition, occasionally I will come back at a later date and do liposuction of the abdomen, for instance, if there is some residual fat, particularly in the upper abdomen which can’t be treated with liposuction at the same time as a tummy tuck for safety reasons. That’s probably 5% to 10% of patients—not a whole lot.

So these are all possible options with liposuction and it just depends on the person, their particular situation and what their anatomy looks like. And I can make those recommendations based upon that.
