The Best Treatments to Tighten Loose, Sagging Skin

What I see very frequently are patients who come in questioning whether liposuction can be performed to improve their bodies’ contours. Liposuction is a powerful tool I use to shape the body, but it isn’t necessarily the best choice if loose skin is present.
Yes, if the laxity is mild, we have technology at our disposal—radio frequency devices like BodyTite can be helpful to tighten skin. But if true loose skin with skin folds is present, it is much more preferable to remove the loose skin along with the fat underneath it. A far better result can be expected if that’s the case.
Of course, there is a down side: we have to make an incision. I try to make those incisions in places where they can be concealed. But it’s not always possible depending on the location and degree of loose skin that’s present.
But commonly, for instance, patients who have lost weight—particularly those who’ve undergone large weight loss of 150 to 200 pounds—will have loose skin in a lot of places.. It requires creativity to determine how to best remove that loose skin and at the same time camouflage the incisions so they are less obvious.
