What is a Mommy Makeover?

Perhaps the most common surgical procedure I do in my practice today is so-called mommy makeover surgery, which is generally comprised of addressing the tummy and the breasts in a woman who’s had children. And that can mean anything from breast augmentation alone after losing volume from breast-feeding to breast augmentation with a breast lift, or it could just be a breast lift alone. And that is often combined with a tummy tuck procedure as well.

This is a really gratifying procedure in my practice because it can be so impactful. What I’ve found is that it can really restore a woman’s level of confidence in her body. For instance, something I see very commonly is that women are self-conscious about putting on a swimsuit and going to the pool with their children. That’s a really simple thing to fix. And your kids want you to be with them in the neighborhood pool. So this is something I’ve found to be very important and impactful after tummy tuck surgery. I really enjoy seeing the restoration of confidence and engagement in normal routine activities my patients experience after undergoing this procedure combination.
